About Steve:
Steve joined the Accelerated Sports Therapy & Fitness team in 2022. Steve has board certification as a Sports Specialist and has completed training in Functional Dry Needling through Evidence in Motion.
Prior to Accelerated Sports Therapy & Fitness, Steve worked at the Institute for Athletic Medicine at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Golden Valley, Edina and Plymouth for 15 years. He was a member of a Spine Care Cohort that completed a continuing education series and related testing to become certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment by the McKenzie Institute. As part of this cohort, Steve was also a member of the Acute Spine Care Team.
At the Institute for Athletic Medicine, Steve was active in special programs regarding shoulder, knee and spine care. He assisted in program development in the Throwing Program, updating return to throw programming based on the latest research. He led throwing screenings for athletes at area high schools and community leagues and attended national lectures with the ASMI in Alabama, bringing content back to educate his throwing program colleagues.
Steve served as an instructor in the Next Step Program (ACL and return to sport) for 14 years. He led lower extremity injury screens, taught injury prevention for soccer/basketball and often volunteered at the USA Cup soccer tournament medical clinic.
