Introducing Steve Riley

Providing exceptional patient care was our primary objective when we started Accelerated Sports Therapy & Fitness 16 years ago. We have stayed true to that vision by putting together an outstanding team of clinicians, and we are excited to welcome Steve Riley, PT, DPT, SCS, Cert MDT, to our team.

Steve is a Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy and is the sixth person on our team to have achieved that distinction. There are currently only 87 physical therapists in the state and about 2488 physical therapists in the country with the SCS certification.

Before joining Accelerated Sports Therapy & Fitness, Steve worked as a physical therapist in the Minneapolis area for 15 years.

Steve specializes in rehabilitation of shoulder, knee, and spine injuries. He provides sport specific evaluation and treatment of the throwing athlete, often using video analysis of throwing mechanics to guide treatment parameters. He gained certification in utilization of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT/McKenzie technique) for assessment of spine conditions 8 years ago. He has instructed ACL return to sports programs for the past 14 years. Additionally, he utilizes functional Dry Needling in the care of his patients through his training with Evidence in Motion.

Steve has supported specialized programming by applying current literature to update throwing program competencies, interval return to throw content, and lower extremity return to sport program design. He has been involved in a spine cohort focused on review of classification, case review and manual skills practice. Steve has mentored and presented to colleagues, PT residents and students as a former clinic supervisor, system-designated clinical specialist, and APTA credentialed clinical instructor.
